Structuring an analytical activity

Following rapid growth, a laboratory needed to rethink its organisation.

Following rapid growth, a laboratory needed to rethink its organisation. Filab Genium supported the teams in defining a new structure aligned with their development objectives. An audit of the existing laboratory identified three areas for improvement: 1. Introducing a centralised data-management tool to make use of accumulated experience. 2. Changing incoming-sample management and storage practices to reduce sample loss and establish consistent traceability. 3. Defining a robust design of experiments to optimise the laboratory’s flagship product as part of its in-house R&D activity. Filab Genium continued to support the first project by benchmarking existing solutions, leading to the selection of a standard solution with some bespoke development.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to the questions our industrial customers ask most often. Have a question about your project? Our experts will respond within 24 hours.

Team organisation, sample flows, analytical methods, data management, IT tools and quality processes.

Laboratory performance auditing

A laboratory performance audit assesses organisation, workflows and analytical tools to identify practical ways to shorten turnaround times and improve reliability.

Lean management for laboratories

Lean principles apply to laboratories: reducing waiting times, standardising methods, limiting rework and improving sample flow.

Managing sample flows

A sample’s journey from receipt to report determines the overall turnaround time. Mapping it reveals bottlenecks and tasks that do not add value.

Capacity and analytical data management

Structured analytical data management improves traceability, quality compliance and the laboratory’s ability to accommodate growth.
